The phd-thesis is focused on the forest as a frame for outdoor preschools, more information on www.skovtid.dk (link to english version). It illuminates the relationship between children's activities and the forest in all seasons. The theoretical grib used is the terme affordances, here defined as the meaningful action possibilities of the enviroment. The thesis includes ht suggestions for design and management of playgrounds and urban green spaces with children's varied activities in the age-group 3-6 in mind. Supervisor: Cecil Konijnendijk van der Bosch.
