Maja is educated Architect (BA from KADK, 2007) and has been employed in the Project Group of Ørestad Nord working with citizens involvement and city life initiatives (2007-2008). Graduated as Landscape Architect from Faculty of Science (2010) .

Maja has worked as research assistant and teaching assistant (2011-2013) at The Faculty of Science, Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning, with research and teaching related to the research group of socio-environmental studies among other things at the master courses ‘Urban Forestry and Urban Greening’ and ‘Health Design’.

From May 2013 – May 2017, employed as PhD student in the Collaborative EU-FP7project GREEN SURGE (Green Infrastructure and Urban Biodiversity for Sustainable Urban Development and the Green Economy).  In focus of the PhD work is urban bio-cultural diversity and governance of urban green infrastructure with a particular interest in modern technological tools and approaches for governance.
As parts of the PhD work, the ‘Create Bio-cultural Diversity’ project has been established as a platform (in development) for knowledge sharing about innovative urban bio-culture.
Maja is arranging the International PhD course on Biocultural Diversity and Governance Aspects of Urban Green Infrastructure, taking place in September 2015 at the University of Copenhagen.
The supervisors of the PhD are Professor Cecil K van den Bosch, Dr. Birgit Elands and Dr. Anton Stahl Olafsson
