Our equipment includes:

Dionex ICS-5000 Ion Chromatograph for High-performance Anion Exchange Chromatography (HPAEC) detection and quantification of e.g. sugars and oxidised oligosaccharides, and a Dionex Ultimate 3000 High-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) for quantification of e.g. sugars, alcohols, organic acids and furans.  

Dionex™ ASE™ 350 Accelerated Solvent Extractor, used for various extraction as well as biomass pretreatments.

Confocal Raman Microspectroscopy can essentially be used for all materials that do not absorb energy at the respective wavelength, as this will cause fluorescence and/or breaking of molecular bonds. It is based on the vibration of molecular bonds and can be used analogously to InfraRed (IR) microscopy, complementing it. Full spectra can be obtained in the fraction of a second, revealing the chemical components of a pure sample or a mixture – in a qualitative, but also quantitative way.
