Landscape Studio 17 challenges nature's role in the city of Copenhagen

Get an insight in one of the landscape architecture studios from the education year 2016 – 2017, which finish in the end of June. Landscape Studio has documented the teaching and design in the studio during a nine week period from April to June. See www.landscapestudio17.tumblr.com. The student assignment was: "Ø: land, shore and forest. In the capital of Copenhagen.

At about the same period that industrialization made its way into what was a fjord in Copenhagen, a new park system was being developed in Boston and Brookline, Massachusetts. The park system aimed to secure clean water and to improve living conditions for the citizens of Back Bay. How can living conditions be improved by Landscape archetypes in Copenhagen? The conceptual archetype of an island with its land, shore and forest define both the aim and the tools for the assignment.

35 students in nine group followed a tight schedule in 9 weeks. See the hand-ins, inputs and final projects! www.landscapestudio17.tumblr.com.
