Anna Aslaug Mortensdottir Lund

Assistant Professor

Anna Aslaug Lund is an architect and landscape architect MAA, PhD and assistant professor at Section for Landscape Architecture and Planning. Anna has as well experience as a practicing landscape architect with a focus on cities, landscapes, sustainability and climate adaptation.

In her research, Anna addresses climate adaptation of urban public spaces and urban landscapes in relation to heavy rain, storm surges and sea level rise. Within this overall field, Anna particularly studies the sensuous, spatial, recreational and ecological potentials of the possible solutions.

From 2020 to 2023 Anna collaborates with eight other researchers on a project on climate adaptation of costal landscapes with a specific focus on nature based solutions.

In 2019 Anna defended her PhD thesis ROOM FOR RAIN. The thesis studies how the design of urban streets may be able to simultaneously mitigate the effects of stormwater events, enhance the perceived sensuous and social qualities of streetscapes, as well as support natural ecologies in the city.
