My main research interest is to apply new genomic technologies for efficient tree improvement. My PhD project involves the identification and genotyping of high throughput genetic markers for efficient tree breeding tactics. My focus is on non-model species with a lack of genomic information. Specifically, I am looking into alternative, cost-effective ways of identifying markers in tree species with minor economic interest that require a fast and efficient breeding approach under the current population growth and climate change. In addition, I am working on identifying easy and cost-effective ways of incorporating genetic markers into operational tree breeding.
