Bring to light: Stories that matter for landscape futures

Untold stories

This project is for everyone who is interested in contributing to further transformative action in cities and landscapes.

We bring untold stories from the spatial practices to light – stories that highlight collaboration, ecologies and social justice advocacy in architecture. These stories show how gender, class and other processes of privilege and marginalization have impacted the world of designers and planners in the past, as a way to discuss the future of spatial disciplines. Our aim is to inspire a new generation in shaping future practice.

Starting in spring 2025, these stories will be brought to light on Instagram. You can follow us and be part of the discussion on @Bring___to___Light (3x underscore).

You can also find us on Wikipedia, where we will add new entries on Danish modern architects across genders and different forms of practice. We do this through edit-a-thons in collaboration with Wikimedia Denmark, SMK National Gallery of Denmark and the Danish Workers Museum.

The project is anchored in the Research Group for Landscape Architecture and Urban History and disseminates insights from the research projects Women in Danish Architecture, Learning from Collaboration – Building Future Practice and Stories from Sofiegården.
