Our Common Future – Landscape Architecture as an Agent of Change

Landscape architecture has a critical role to play in transforming our cities and landscapes in the face of climate change and the biodiversity crisis. But how can we work with landscape architecture as an agent of change to create sustainable urban and rural environments that support the quality of life of all species? How can transformations preserve and further develop place-based qualities, resources and potential with regard to the needs of future generations? And how can the local people be involved? The lecture presents concepts, methods and practical approaches to strategic transformation, supported by examples from ten years of research through design with students and practice partners in rural areas of Denmark.
