Gamma Dating Centre Copenhagen
The Gamma Dating Centre Copenhagen (GDC) is primarily dealing with establishment of chronology in fine-grained sediments using the radioactive isotopes Pb-210 and Cs-137.
GDC is a research-laboratory but also does analysis on a commercial basis. Research-collaboration includes cooperation with researchers and institutions from all over the world and in many different environmental settings including salt marshes, lakes, fjords and tidal flats in all climate zones. Special focus in recent years has been on sedimentary archives in high-latitude settings.
Key instruments
The key instruments are three Canberra Ge-detectors, of which two are planar detectors and one is a well-detector.
