LA-ICP-MS laboratory

The laser ablation laboratory features a Teledyne Analyte Excite 193 nm ArF laser ablation (LA) system coupled to an Agilent 7900 quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS).

This analytical arrangement allows for a wide range of in-situ trace element and isotopic analyses on a variety of geological or other solid materials. Elements with masses ranging from Li to U can be analysed on thin sections or sample/grain mounts.
