The mycology laboratory
The mycology lab is a key infrastructure in relation to isolation and cultivation of fungi for diagnostic purposes or experiments. General diagnostics of diseases and disorders on woody plants are also carried out. The work done in the mycology lab yields results used in research, teaching and advisory work.
The mycology lab has 2-3 work spaces, and a sterile room meant for working with fungi and other samples in sterile conditions. It is a typical mycology / plant pathology lab for diagnostics and isolation of fungi, as well as incubations of plant samples and preparation of inoculation experiments.
The lab contains e.g. stereo microscopes, light microscopes, a small fridge, laminar flow benches and point extraction. During inoculation experiments on plants facilities in the green houses at R23 and at the Arboretum in Hørsholm are used.
For confirmation of plant disease diagnoses and development of experiments we rely on a large network of colleagues nationally and internationally.
