Second project workshop in Copenhagen

Workshop in Copenhagen

In June 2023, the project team from Ghana, Burkina Faso, UK and Denmark met in Copenhagen for a week of meetings, presentations and workshops. The main objectives were to consolidate the knowledge developed during the first phase of research and to develop a detailed outline for data collection and analyses for the next phase.

This was also the first time that the newly started four PhD students met with the whole team: it was very good to have everyone on board and have time discussing insights (and concerns) from the field across teams and countries and developing clear directions for the upcoming small-town inventories and surveys.

Apart from discussions on selection of small-town study sites, update on the project progress and study plans for the next phase of research, the group worked on consolidating the project’s overall assumptions and key concepts. This was stimulated by presentations on local governance and its interplay with climate change and small-town development and secondly, the role of ecosystem services for understanding sustainable adaptation to climate change.
