Prof. Paul Dupree - honorary doctorate and lecture in Cph
Professor Paul Dupree from the University of Cambridge will receive an honorary doctorate in natural science from the University of Copenhagen during the upcoming annual commemoration on 10th November 2023 – read more here.
In connection to receiving the honorary doctorate, Prof. Dupree will give a seminar on 9. November at 15.00 in Auditorium 5 at the HCØ building entitled:
”Molecular interactions and assembly of polysaccharides in plant cell walls.”
Plant cell walls are important for sustainable renewable materials. The properties are strongly influenced by their composition and structure which need to be better understood for more effective use. The fine structure of plant cell wall polysaccharides influences their conformation and interactions with other wall components. By engineering plants to produce polymers of different structures, we can modify the assembly and reveal principles of polymer interactions, and perhaps understand how to use plant materials better.
