Preliminary RurbanClimate results presented at international conference

Preliminary results from the RurbanClimate household survey were presented at the NGM Conference ‘Transitioning Geographies’ in Copenhagen in June 2024.

Large household survey conducted in the four small towns

The household survey, with more than 1200 respondents in total, was conducted in the four small towns in Ghana and Burkina Faso during April and May 2024.

Fieldsite visits

Visiting the field: community entry and outline of small-town dynamics

Initial field site visits in early 2024 supported a first understanding of small-town development, natural resource use, services, critical infrastructures and areas of social and environmental vulnerability.

The RurbanClimate project was represented at the ECMN conference in Vienna in July 2023 through a presentation on Africa's small towns as sustainable centres for environmental mobilities.

In June 2023, the project team from Ghana, Burkina Faso, UK and Denmark met in Copenhagen for a week of meetings, presentations and workshops.

Two project launch workshops were held in Tumu (March 31-April 1, 2022) and Navrongo (August 8-9, 2022) in Northern Ghana.
