    New Field Inoculation Experiment Launched

In April, the Silva Nova team initiated a large-scale field inoculation experiment at a post-agricultural site north of Copenhagen. As part of this effort, we planted 15,000 trees across a 5-hectare area to investigate whether introducing soil inoculum from mature forests rich in beneficial microbes, fungi, and soil fauna—can accelerate and enhance the establishment of new forest ecosystems.
In the coming years, we will closely monitor a range of soil parameters (including chemistry and microbiome composition) as well as tree performance. Our goal is for this site to serve as an open-air laboratory, contributing to the development of sustainable strategies for growing resilient forests and restoring biodiversity.
