On 19 March, Silva Nova hosted a one-day open seminar exploring the restoration of ecosystem functions and biodiversity in post-agricultural forests. The event featured insightful presentations from members of the Silva Nova group and invited experts, structured around four thematic sessions:

  1. Characteristics of agricultural and forest soils
  2. From agriculture to forest: changes in soil, vegetation, and microbiomes
  3. The role of microbiomes in restoring ecosystem functions and biodiversity
  4. Open discussion and concluding remarks

We extend our sincere thanks to all our speakers for their valuable contributions:

  • Professor Ellen Kandeler (University of Hohenheim, DE),
  • Professor Gerlinde de Deyn (Wageningen University, NL),
  • PhD student Tobias Skjærlund (Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen),
  • Professor Jakob Blæsbjerg Hoof (DTU Bioengineering),
  • the Silva Nova team, and all participants who helped make the day both productive and inspiring.
