Biomass and nutrients partitioningstrategies in treespeciesmay reflecttheir ability to survivein plantationsondegraded areas. The objective of this studywas to investigatethe contentofbiomassand nutrientsin tree components of Parkia multijuga,ParkianitidaandParkiapendulaonplantingsindegraded areain Manaus, AM. Thebiomasswas determinedby the harvestmethodin sixtreesof eachspecies, whichweresubdividedintoleaves, fine branches(Ø <10 cm), coarsebranches(Ø ≥10cm), stemwood, medium roots(≤ 2mmØ<5 cm)andcoarseroots(Ø ≥5cm). At 4 years, Parkiamultijugaallocated60% of the totalbiomasstoabove-groundcomponentsand 40% to below-ground.Parkianitidaallocated84% toabove-ground and16% tobelow-ground.Parkiapendulaallocated67%toabove-groundcomponents and 33% tobelow-ground. The orderof the nutrient accumulationin treecompartmentswas: N> Ca> K> Mg> P.Parkiamultijuga, by adoptingbetter strategies of distribution of biomass and nutrients, it is a recommended speciesfor reforestation programs on degraded sitesin the Amazon
