Africa - particular East Africa (Tanzania, Zambia) and Southern Africa (Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa) but also in West Africa (Ghana and Mali).

Primary fields of research
The key research interests are within the fields of farming systems, natural resource management, land use change, livelihood strategies, and rural-urban linkages. Have more than 25 years experience of participation in interdisciplinary research-, educational-, and capacity enhancement projects in East, West and Southern Africa (Tanzania, Mali, Ghana, Zambia, Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa) as well as South-east Asia (Malaysia, Cambodia) and Oceania (Solomon Islands).
