Senior researcher

Birth: 5 April 1960, Denmark.

Civil status: Two children.

Hans Skov-Petersen (HSP) has worked with Geogrphical Information Systems (GIS) since 1987. At that time he took part in the development of the teaching curriculum that later developed in to the research ageneda in GIS and CAD at the Forest and Landscape Denmark (Faculty of Lifesciences of the University of Copenhagen).

Hans is presently senior Researcher and GIS-coordinator of Forest and Landscape Denmark. He is responcible for the teaching curriculum in the field of GIS.

HSP holds a master in Horticulture (1989: 'Green fields as seen from space') and a PhD in Geography (2002: 'GIS, accessibility and physical planning').

HSP' main research interests include:

  • GIS-based models of humans' spatial behavior

  • Agentbased models

  • Indicators of urban environment

  • GIS in relation physical planning processes

  • Data and model inaccuracy

  • GIS-based communication
