With a background in engineering and photonics, my research aims to bring remote sensing and automation to researchers and industry working with biodiversity and conservation.
The project aims to use a novel optical sensor to quantify the biodiversity of flying insects and identify key pollinators in the field. This would enable a cost effective large scale but non-intrusive monitoring of insects with unprecedented temporal resolution.
Something which could be a very valuable complement to current practicies.
