Anne's work bridges theory and practice at the intersection of landscape architecture, urban design, and planning. She works with the transformation of existing built environments and landscapes, focusing on the politics and agency of design for sustainable urban and rural development and quality of life for more than humans. Her work is situated within the field of relational spatial design and planning theory, specifically based on actor-network theory. She has carried out extensive research on strategic design and planning, urban/rural public space, heritage in planning, and design-based research methods.
She has a long-standing interest in collaborative transdisciplinary research and possibilities for democratizing knowledge production with design-based tools, specifically architecture exhibitions, in the projects Public Space in European Social Housing and Exploring Public Space in Rural Transformation. She also teaches the course Transformation Studio in the MSc Landscape Architecture as an education-based design research lab in collaboration with Danish practice partners (municipalities).
She is an established capacity in design-based research, drawing on 12 years of international experience in architecture and urban design practice. In addition to her academic work, she occasionally works as a consultant for strategic design and planning projects in cooperation with Danish architecture firms.

Teaching
I teach in the international Landscape Architecture programme.
- Responsible for the master course Transformation Studio (15 ECTS, since 2014, not in 2020 due to sabbatical). The Transformation Studio works as a laboratory for strategic planning through landscape projects in shrinking rural areas. Bridging design research, education and practice we collaborate each year with a Danish municipality and work on site in dialogue with local planners, politicians, experts, project makers and communities. The resulting strategic landscape projects are collected in a course magazine to serve as inspiration for future development to our cooperation partners.
