This paper intends to briefly review the current state of development of satellite remote sensing techniques within a numer of key-areas of great agricultural and environmental interest. The aim wil be to identify data-sources and methodologies, which may be brought into practical use in (some) developing countries at the present time, as well as data-sources and methodologies, which will require further research and development. -from Author
